A Few Common Social Anxiety
Symptoms
Social anxiety symptoms better known as social phobia. Which is more common than most people
think. Among the more common
social anxiety symptoms you can include suffering from frequent or even regular panic attacks which is a
condition that typically manifests its self in the form of feeling like you are being judged by others. In
other words a feeling of being inferior.
Example: A man of 6 foot 4 inches and 240 lbs
and someone you would not like to get on the wrong side of, when ask to go up on stage at a sales meeting loses his
voice, breaks out in a sweat and his legs turn to jelly.
Social phobia is not something that people
like to be known to have. It can stop people getting promoted, loose respect of others, and build long term
personal problems. Everyone gets nervous when they have to perform in front of others but when it leads to
sleepless nights or drink, then it needs to be sorted out. People who are shy or quiet are not necessary the ones
to have this. Many a time when the shy or quiet persons are put in a situation that they are not used to, turn out
to shine, when the life of the party types fall apart when they are out of their comfort zone. There are no set
type of person who will end up with social anxiety symptoms.

If a person does have severe social anxiety
symptoms any social situation for them can be terrifying and the mere thought of having to face a social event can
put them into a near panic and they will do almost anything to get out of it. There is always one situation that
triggers the symptoms and this can be a different phobia for different people. It all boils down that people
with social anxiety symptoms
have an underlying fear of being
judged, or embarrassed in public even if their fears are quite
groundless and irrational, they
still can’t help feeling that way.
The fear of thinking people thinking badly of
them overrides any logical thoughts they have. But here` s something that may surprise you, social anxiety disorder
is not rare, in fact it is quite common but most people are able to hide it from others usefully most of their
lives. And you will also find that people with social anxiety
symptoms only get this at certain
events. Like specking in public, going to dances, any sporting event or even sitting in a pub. It effects
people in different ways.
Change
yourself
If you already are aware that your phobia is
nothing but one of the many social anxiety symptoms then you will be able to move quickly to treat the condition.
One of the best ways to start is to write down what you fear, put it in detail, it doesn't matter how silly it may
seems to yourself - write it down. Leave for a day and then look at what you have put down. Now go over it again
and sort out from you list what really are your true feelings.
Example: Your symptoms may take the form of
cancelling your appointments that would put you in crowds. You may not show up for meetings and even avoiding a
lunch date because you are too anxious about what will take place at the event. What ever you dislike write it
down. Also understand social anxiety symptoms can also be seen by others, who do no know you as a form of snobbery,
which stops you being able to maintain friendships. This is probable one of the worse forms of social anxiety
symptoms. When a person starts to skip out on their lives because they are not able to maintain their friendships
or even because they have too few friends. It can then also lead to depression which is commonly associated with
social anxiety symptoms and which can prove to be a major impediment to living life happily and without
fear.
