Finding Ways for
Overcoming Panic Attacks
There are many ebooks, videos, web-sites in the market place, all showing this and that method
of finding ways to over come panic attacks. The reason for this is that one method may not work on that person
but will work on another. So you have many methods put forward.
The first and from this researches point of
view, the only step a person should take is to have a good look at themselves. In the most simplistic terms there
are two types of people in this world, those who will do something for themselves and those who need someone to
push them, hold their hand, or need help in some form or other.
If a person knows they are suffering panic
attacks then they will either sort it out (with or without help) or let it get so bad that it could turn into
something more serious in the future.

working hard with his wife to look after their 3 children but he is being pushed hard at work by his boss, his car
is on its last leg and some bills are not getting paid. The mans stress levels have reached a point that stress
starts to show itself through a physical, mental or emotional level, and the man has his first panic attack. The
man goes to his doctors and is given medication to help him relax. His problems is still there by the drugs hold
him together. This man is a doer and uses a method of overcoming panic attacks which is to sit down and take a
close look at himself and his surroundings. He works out with his wife their finance and decides not to let his
boss put more work on his shoulders and stops going into his office over the weekends. By doing this the man starts
to control more of his life. He has changed the circumstances around him and that has stopped the pattern of the
attacks forming.

Another example: A woman of 40 has a phobia of
meeting people, she stays in her home most of the time and worries over her problems and her friends are few. When
she has to go out, because of her family commitments the worry of these events make her sick and she has sleepless
nights. The method she needs to use to help her is quite different from the mans. She will need help to overcome or
at least bring her phobia under more control. So she uses a therapist. (TV program Monk. This man has a phobia
which he controls with the help of his assistant) with the therapist help she starts to get her phobia under
control, goes out more and she starts to have a better quality of life.
So back to the question of overcoming panic
attacks. There are different techniques available for overcoming panic attacks that can be utilized by these
individuals to help them lead full and enjoyable lives. You need to look at all the techniques and see which works
for you. You may have to try two or three techniques before you find the one for you.
Below are a few tips that should point you
in the right direction.

Look at yourself and decide if you can manage to solve your
problem by yourself . This way would involve buying yourself some self help books, videos etc and having the
will to carry out the instructions.

Tell your friends and family and work
colleagues about how you feel, they will be more supportive than you may think

Exercise regularly. Exercise helps in a variety of
different ways. First, it helps the individual to relieve any excess energy that is due to stressful situations
in their lives. It also helps to release endorphins in the person's body which help the individual to feel
better in general .

One way to overcome panic attacks is to have therapy. A
good clinical psychologists will be able to find the right method to overcoming panic attacks for you but the
cost is sometimes quite high.

out there in the market place and find what is best for you. You my feel you are happier under your doctor and
medication, using self help books or having a therapist guide you But once you have decided stay with
it.
